Wonderfully done, Wyatt!I know there was another thread discussing scale continuity somewhere, but it is somewhat unfortunate the AMX is as long and a lot wider than the Javalin. Otherwise a perfectly executed casting. The AMX had a 97 inch w.b., 4-6 inches less than the Jav. as I recall.I'm not too into the ''3 inch rule'', myself.

Nice pics Wyatt as usual! Those are some nice castings too. I guess I'm just loyal to the JL line, I like all there castings. They do an excelent job on such a small piece. Yes some may have a few flaws here & there but overall still the best little cars out there! thumbsup.gif Jeff

I looked at some really nice 1:87 scale Malibus this past weekend, a '70 GTO, Chevy pickup, and Bandit Trans Am, but put them back knowing they just don't fit the scale I prefer, 1:64. They were very nicely done, though.

At PM, Tom Lowe himself broke out a ruler and a micrometer and dictated what castings lengths should or should not be. Hence they are not to scale, they are to what size he wanted them to be. His company, his rules. Unsure how RC2 approaches it at this point.

I think there is at least 1 AMC fan on JLTalk, so this is a good a casting as it gets. I really like this casting despite it critism as being out of scale. Nice pic Wyatt. Although I tink my favorite AMC car would be the Matador, oops sorry major typo there the Javelin cuts the pie every time for me. Love that baby. Just not as much as a Camaro, I may be dumb but I'm not stupid laugh.gif

Thanks Wyatt,
This is a nice casting and such bright colours! Side by side with a Javellin it would look weird I guess but since I don't really like Javellins I don't have to worry.

Big Bad Blue, Bid Bad Green, Big Bad Orange were factory colors for the AMX and Javelin.

Some of the JL AMC castings actually become more appealing as time goes by for me.
When I first bought the '68 AMC Javelin casting, I knew very little about the car or the company.
But I did like the casting.
By doing some reading in books and magazines plus research on the internet, I learned a lot about the company and its vehicles.
As time goes by, I like the JL castings even more.
My favourite right now has to be the AMC AMX.
This is a very interesting small muscle car that probably doesn't get a lot of respect or the credit that truly deserves.
Wyatt, thanks for the excellent picture.

Cheers. Cobra

And I really really like the red/white and blue paint schemes on any of the AMC products from the Scrambler to the AMX. Years ahead of its time, and so different then anything else back then. AMC just was dealt a bad hand or two and ended up being gobbled up by its comp. Pity. Had some nice rides. And JL did them up good with some very nice castings

Yeah, that is just awesome, Man I'd give my hind teeth to own a 1:1 of that. That to me has got to be one of the most impressive designs of all time. Maybe even better then a Ca......................ma.................ma..ma.......ma...............o (oh no, what have I done, oh the blasphamy of it all, the national Chevy lovers org. will drum me out of town on a rail now, tar and feather me, disown me, blindfold me and make me ride in a Mustrang. Oh no, my life is over as I see it)

Thanks AC, nice choice, nice pic Wyatt,
