Talk about a unique casting! I wish I had them all, but alas, no, just a few. I LOVE that lime/gold paint!! Its best use was on the street freaks '69 Camaro, but I would love to see it used again. Cool selection for today,Wyatt, thanks as always! Don't need any gas to see your weekly car show!
And Impala65, I don't believe I said welcome yet, but I am enjoying your posts! Wyatt's site is a great place to lose a few hours and add pages to a want list of JL!
Thanks and have a great weekend!

Excellent picture Wyatt thumbsup.gif Thanks for the weekly editions. I've always liked this casting and often thought about cutting one up to make a Beverly Hillbillies, Jethro Bodine Hot Rod Truck. Something yet to be done- Maybe someday JL can do it and add it to the HOW lineup. rolley.gif

Thanks Wyatt for the latest edition of "The Picture Of The Week".
This is a rather unique and cute casting.
I can remember comptemplating buying versions of it a long time ago from some OLDs, but always ended up buying some other JL casting instead that I thought that I wanted even more.

This is the version that I like in particular.

Thanks Wyatt for another great picture. I consider myself lucky with the blue one in my collection but I also really dig that green version. Great color.

Thanks for sharing!

I went searching for topics on the 1929 Ford Crew Cab casting #560 and found this one.

I was digging around looking for a particular JL casting that I had put away when I found this one:

Image courtesy of JLCollector.com. Thanks Wyatt.
It is from Hot Rods 1 release 1 JL #441-01.
This is a rather unique casting.
I'm glad that I found it, again.

I liked that casting. I have a gray/silver one from the Lightning Speed series and a pearl WL version.

Nice pics! Another great hot rod casting. Now I'm kicking myself for always having passed one over in a small hobby shop where it's been sitting for quite a while.

Just to clarify ... this is a custom, another from the Hot Rods series that Frankenstude was in among others. No real '29 crew-cabs existed except the custom one that was the inspiration for this model.

Hey Jeff, I'm glad that JL made some of these old hot rods and cars from the '20s and '30s.
They're fun castings of vehicles that we seldom see other than at a car show or the occasional rod run.
I do like the Ford Crew Cab.

And I think that this casting could have some potential left in it, if it was used for a BWF.
Lots of surface to play around with and a body style that could be used for some unique flames application.
So Tom, here is something else to think about for the future.

Cheers. Cobra

Cobra, BwF was designed to work on every casting in the JL tooling arsenal--giving potential use to any casting JL did that was not disallowed by licensor, even ones that might have seemed odd at first. (The BwF Nash Metro was done very much on purpose, for this very reason...) When I initially suggested BwF through, it was supposed to be a set of six cars, done quarterly. But things got jogged around, and those above me (not TL, necessarily) had no faith in the BwF series doing well on its own. "But they're all painted the same," was what I heard a couple of times, usually accompanied by furrowed brow. "Let's do Marvel Comics instead." And so BwF was part of the mixed-case Street Freaks concept that cause so much hand-wringing about half a dozen years ago. By the time everyone realized that the BwF cars were the ones people were digging most, I left, or else I would have tried again. And likely failed again. But I'd have tried.

Marvel comics - marginal success in the best case scenario. I'll leave it at that.
BWF - hugely successful. One of the best sub-sets of castings to be ever produced by PM/RC2/LCB.
Extremely popular as we all know. One of the very best things to happen for JL collectors.

BYW, I still like that BWF Nash Metropolitan. It is truly unique and has its own chram.

Thanks for the comments, Jeff.
Always enjoyable and enlightening. thumbsup.gif

I have to admit that after reading this thread ( a year ago!!), I decided I wanted an example of this casting. I ended up getting the turquoise one in a lot of JLs that I bought. With rubber tires, it's a cool addition to my collection. happy.gif

Thanks AC for the kind words. I would really like to post more often. BTW I have a great picture for you. I will try to post it tonight. I made the picture in France and already told Ward about it.

"See" you around!
