Another good pick Wyatt thumbsup.gif . I always like the 57 Lincoln Premier casting and when the "Class of 57" one came out. I found my 5 star version of this great JL smile.gif .

Thanks Wyatt for another fine installment of The Picture Of The Week.
This is another nice casting that was originally produced by Playing Mantis.
Wyatt, I look forward to each new subject each week.
This is a highlight of my regular visits on a Saturday.
And if I am home Saturday morning after you post it, it is the first thing that I check out.
Thanks for all the hard work that you put into producing and posting these images.
It is greatly appreciated.

This is my contribution to the subject matter:

I hope that Lummox does get to see this one as he is a fan ot this particular casting.

ac, I am glad you and others seem to enjoy the picture of the week. Sometimes I think maybe the board is getting burned out on it but it always seems to make for a good discussion.

Perish the thought, Wyatt. I think there's more of us who enjoy them that might not post.

Now here's a little info from conceptcarZ.com:

The 1957 Lincoln was an updated version of the all-new 1956 model, which itself was inspired by Ford's 1955 Futura show car.

For 1957, Lincoln sprouted blade-like rear fins and a novel Quadra-like headlamp system that featured regular lights plus smaller 'road' lights operated via a separate switch. The Quadra-Like system was Lincoln's response to several state legislatures which were threatening in 1956 to block the industry-wide adoption of quad headlamp systems.

The 1957 Lincoln Premiere featured a 368 cubic-inch, 300 horsepower V8. Standard safety features included a new padded dash, 'deep-dish' steering wheel and reinforced door latches. Safety belts were optional.

Never borrowing.
Quite the contrary.
I feel guilty that I should be digging out some castings each week to help contribute to the discussion.
I am sure that there are many members who have never seen many of the castings that you feature in your images.
I applaud your efforts.

Cheers. Cobra

Wyatt my only complaint about cast of the week is that just about every week I see another casting that I have either, never known about, forgot I had or never purchased. All this has done is caused my diecast fund to be eaten up just a bit quicker. I have added several of these cars to my ever growing collection.

There is a lot of detail and crisp lines on this casting and it must have an opening hood. I must have purchased the Monopoly and poker versions of this cast but I think that is it. I like the trunk lid detail that can be seen on the blue model in the pic and I must admit I had never noticed that before, and am not that familiar with the "real" car. Wyatt, I too look forward to these pics and hope they continue! There have been some that I also have started to look for because I appreciate the nice work JL did other than just because I collect a particular car (CAMARO!!!). So, thanks again!!

So, this Lincoln actually has roots in the BATMOBILE...never knew that. Thanks, Mark for the x-tra research! thumbsup.gif

Wyatt, POTW is great...keeps the boards fresh and sometimes we learn something we never knew. Clap.gif

Hey ya'awl!
I'll sign the Petition for the Continuance of the Picture of the Week.
It's a good thing!
Cobra's right. Lummox Love Lincolns! I had a '66 and a '71. The '71 was just about the best car I've owned.
A very refined and nice looking auto. Probably the pinnacle of older automobile design in alot of ways. (Like newer cars matter devil.gif )
