I was wondering, with the wicked wagons being pretty popular, in fact, wagons in any series seem to be popular, and the more "common" cars like gremlins, pacers, vegas, and mavericks being put out by both JL and motormax recently; How many people here would by 4 door cars? whether in thier own series, like maybe "Super Sedans", or in other series like Classic Gold or Those 70s Cars, who would be interested? I'm talking about cars like these Novas:

IPB ImageIPB Image

or this 1950 Ford:

IPB Image

or how about this Dodge Coronet:

IPB Image

or, maybe an AMC hornet? :

IPB Image

Even some newer ones for Modern Muscle like the dodge Charger SRT-8, Chrysler 300C, new Chevy Impala SS, a Dodge Magnum wagon or maybe even a Subaru WRX? I know a few of those have been done by other diecast companies, but they're not Johnny Lightnings!

I have been begging for a '71 Ford Galaxie 4 door sedan police cruiser. I think a '71 I Fury 4 door sedan would also fit into my collection quite nicely.

I think, compared to a lot of other diecast companies out there, JL's ratio of four-doors is a lot higher than we might think:

59 DeSoto ("by Chrysler"!)
67 Fairlane
61 Galaxie
92 Crown Vic
94-6 Caprice/Impala

If we throw wagons in there we can add the 60 Ford and a whole slew of others. Absolutely none of which come to mind at this moment.

I'd buy them if they were something that might have a personal attachment, such as something I owned at one time or if they were unique in some way (BWF,PiP) laugh.gif

It's true - most people didn't have a chance to buy coupes. Not everyone drove a sports car.

I'd like to see a 1968 dodge coronet or plymouth satellite four door.

I had a 68 Satellite 4 door, green with a 318, maybe it was a 67, can't remember, any way after it wouldn't pass inspection anymore I sold it to a farm kid who chopped off the roof and trunk and used it for herding cattle. You couldn't kill that thing. I lived at the end of a dead end street, and it tapered into a muddy lane, there were several large rocks up the lane that my wife always said that they would look nice in our front yard, so I towed them home behind the satellite, right up into place, Thank goodness she wasn't fussy where they ended up in the yard, It was bad enough towing them across some of it.

Most people only needed one car,mom stayed home with the kids,so they bought what was practical. When my
parents got married dad had a 55 ford conv. and sold it in 62 when mom was expecting #5,and they bought a 63 Ford wagon.Dad got second veh in 66 a 52 chevy pu for $75.00.Not like today when you 3 or more veh per family, not counting the kids.Different times, the baby boomers changed everything.

Didn't JL use the '67 Ford Fairlane as the Dragnet car?

I agree with 4 door cars being used in dioramas. Everyone didn't have a Muscle Car.

Excellent Seveland, nice choices, diorama's need variations and realism, so we do need to mix them up. However That 66 Coronet is really a wolf in sheeps clothing. Not many muscle cars would be able to touch that. And get a load of that Lemans. I remember them, Talkl about being careful when you parked behind somebody, the nose of your car arrived 5 seconds ahead of the bumper. Wide track pontiac, I used to love those old Ponchos.

68 pontiac Le Mans.

Both of which would be great in a four door diecast.

My Grandfather had one of these. It is a 68 Pontiac Catalina not a Le mans. The Le Mans was the same platform as the GTO

68 pontiac Le Mans.

Both of which would be great in a four door diecast.

I thought that looked awful big to be a Lemans, I once owned a Tempest which looked like a Lemans with no chrome, it got smashed while I was waiting for a train one night, a DUI rear ended me.

Absolutely! I can think of a few sedans that would be perfect fits for JL- the one that springs to mind first is the '77-'78 Dodge Monaco. A perfect car for all the "Dukes of Hazzard" releases, not to mention the other shows you can get out of it ("CHiP's", "Hunter", etc.). Some four door versions of popular muscle cars would be a nice twist on the theme- Nova, LeMans, Chevelle- I'd buy 'em all.
