Now that is a beautiful bowtie. One of my favorite representations is right there in Wyatt's picture, preimer gray with flames.
Great shot!

I love this casting, too. They could make it in every color and I would never get tired of it. I hope they do more of the HotRod version with the radiused wheel wells and scoop! Of course, I really like the Zinger style engine sticking out, too!

I was thrilled when this casting was released because I new they were halfway to a super cool "Two Lane Blacktop" set smile.gif . Also this is one of my favorite cars of all times. The 05 toy fair candy chromed spoiler is by far my favorite version and gets thumbsup.gif thumbsup.gif .

I recall that it was ol' Grey Headed Art who fought for making this a base two-door sedan ... we had been thinking Bel Air, but Art fought to make it a 150, and considering all of the high-line Bel Airs and Nomad Tri-5s we already had in the line I can't say it was a bad call.

Wyatt, thanks for this special Picture Of The Week.
The picture brought back a lot of pleasant memories.

Through the last couple of years of high school and several years that followed, I had the pleasure to ride in one of these on an almost daily or atleast a weekly basis for several years in my single days.
One of my best buddies had a '55 Chevy two door sedan.
He had it through high school, university and a couple years after that.
He came from a family that always had older Chevies in the garage, driveway, and parked on the street.
His older brother had a black '57 Chevy Bel Air two door hardtop for many years.
His mom had a '63 Impala convertible.
And his dad always was driving and/or working on some vintage Chevy or Pontiac.
The family was always working on cars.

The '55 Chevy had no chrome with the hood and trunk shaved.
It ran with mag wheels that I believe were Keystone Kustoms, a 327 CID 4 barrel carb and a very quiet dual exhaust system and a Pontiac rear-end.
Of course it had a four speed and white bucket seats.
The car was painted a light shade of blue metallic which was probably a Camaro colour.
This car was very well cared for and maintained for all the years that I was around it.
My buddy even got married in it. Not long after he moved away to a new city and a new job.
I often wonder what happened to that gorgeous piece of Detroit metal.

I had planned on taking some pictures of my JL '55 Chevy two door sedans but my batteries are dead in my camera right now. The pictures will have to wait for another day.

Wyatt, thanks for the flashback!

Cheers. Cobra

A couple of '55 Chevy two door sedans.
I was looking for some images in my Photobucket account tonight when I happened upon this image.
So I thought why not show it.

These are definitely two of my favourites.

Roadwarrior, very astute question on your part and you answered your own question.
Indeed, that is exactly the series that the castings came from.
I have always liked the '55 Chevy two door sedan.
