Great picture Wyatt. I like the idea that they used this vehical as a Pace car to, so that one has to be my pick of the litter. rolley.gif

Just thinking why I don't have more of this casting in my collection. I realized that this car, to me looks awefully Bland in solid colors, its a vehical that definately needs a paint scheme. Maybe a Lift Kit to! biggrin.gif or even better a small daytona Spoiler type wing on the rear. biggrin.gif

I think I was around for this one ... but I'm drawing a complete blank on it, which leads me to believe that I wasn't.

Helpful, I know.

Anyone besides me ever driven one of these things?

How did the things drive Jeff? I'm not even sure of the power... where they 350 hp, or did they have the 400 hp 6.0 like the GTO, vette, and camro concept?

I was never a big fan of this car/truck. I would have much rather seen GM rebadge the Holden Ute SS as an El Camino. I dont think they were really bad looking, but way overpriced for what they were. I did see the"bed" of one of these trucks and it wasnt much larger than a coleman cooler, lol.

I think the first year they had the LS1 then the LS2 the second year and beyond. I sat in one and it was very nice. It just doesn't seem very practical, it's a two-seater, but kind of a truck, but you wouldn't really use it as one..... But i'd take an LS2/MN6 GTO any day! One in yellowjacket, please.

Short answer: it was a pig.

Longer answer: I found that it simply did nothing well. It had 400hp in the LS2 but the truck was so fat it blunted the power. It had gigantic tires but it was so high up it didn't corner worth a -. Top up or down it flexed a ridiculous amount. The bed/trunk was miniscule. The ride made my boobies bounce all across the desert. From a 3/4 angle it looked OK but from the dead-on side view it just looked fat. Felt cheap inside to boot ... not $40K worth of truck. Anyone unless a convertible fan could have bought a GTO that year, saved ten grand, and gotten a far better vehicle overall.

On the upside, GM made about as many in one year of production as Chrysler made Prowlers overall. So what do I know.

    Now I'm hooked!
